Medical Transcription

Prerequisite: HLTH1106; Corequisite: GSMS1104. This course is an introduction to transcription of dictated medical reports used in a variety of medical facilities. Emphasis is placed on proper formatting, building transcription proficiency, and application of medical transcription style as defined by the American Association of Medical Transcriptionists. Students are expected to possess the ability to type 40 wpm in order to successfully complete this course.
