Course Descriptions

Outpatient Coding

Prerequisite: HLTH1106; Corequisite: GSMS1104. This course is an introduction to medical coding and emphasizes coding in a medical office and other outpatient care facilities. Course topics include ICD-9 and ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS Level II and III procedural coding, and legal and ethical issues related to outpatient coding practices.
